what are body mechanics ? special ways of standing and moving one's body.
Draping ? covering a patient or parts of a patient's body with a sheet.
what is a Drape ? A covering used to provide privacy during an examination or operation.
what is Suspine position ? lying on one's back.
what is a Dorsal Recumbent position ? lying down or reclining ; refers to the back part of an organ.
what is a Fowler's position ? the position in which the head of the patient's bed is at a 45 - 90 degree angle.
what is a semi-fowler's position ? the position in which the patient's head is at a 30 - 45 degree angle.
what is a knee-chest position ? a bent posture with the knees and chest touching the examining table, sometimes used for examing the rectum or for women who have recently given birth, to allow for the uterus to fall forward into its natural position.
what is trendelenburg position? where the bed or operating table on which a patient is lying is tilted so the patients head is about one foot below the level of his or her knees to allow more blood flow to the head and prevent shock;also called shock positioning
