Lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped structures.  They lie along lymphatic vessels.  There are groups of nodes in the groin, axilla, neck and abdomen.  
Ea. node is enclosed in fibrous capsule.  Trabeculae are strands of the capsule.  Trabeculae extend into node and divide it into compartments.  
Cortex  outer portion of the node.  (blank)  
Medulla  inner portion of the node.  (blank)  
Germinal Centers  are masses of lymphoid tissue within the cortex.  Sources of Lymphocytes.  
Sinuses  spaces where lymph passes into when it enters the nodes.  There its exposed to macrophages & lymphocytes.  
Macrophages and lymphocytes.  filter bacteria and foreign particles from the lymph  (blank)
