Question Answer
What are the four things blood is made of?  red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, plasma
What three things do the red blood cells carry around the body?  oxygen, nutrients (food), waste
When I say circulatory, you say  blood
these blood vessels carry oxygen blood AWAY from the heart to the rest of the body  arteries
these blood vessels carry blood with waste back to the heart and lungs  veins
these are the smallest blood vessels that go to every cell in the body  capillaries
blood cells have to travel in a single file line through these blood vessels  capillaries
Blood that doesn't have oxygen has to go to this organ to get oxygen  lungs
this organ pumps the blood to the lungs or the rest of the body  heart
this part of the blood helps your body to heal cuts and stop bleeding  platelets
this part of the blood helps your body fight diseases  white blood cells
this part of the blood carries oxygen throughout the body  red blood cells
this part of the blood is like a river for the other blood parts to float in  plasma
blood that has given away all their oxygen, travels back through the veins to these two organs  heart and lungs
