TermDefinition
Physical Wellness Involves aspects of life that are necessary to keep yourself in top condition, such as exercising.
Emotional wellness Relates to our feelings (sad, happy, scared, excited)
Social Wellness Refers to the relationships we have and how we interact with others (doesn’t have to be face to face).
Mental Wellness Relates to our thoughts/what we think about (positive and negative)
Depression Sadness or miserable feeling felt over a period of time. Feeling of hopelessness
Mental Health How you think, feel, and act in order to face life’s situations. How you look at yourself and evaluate your options.
Stress Is the way your body relates to life’s pressures
Sexual Violence When someone makes you do some kind of sexual activity when you don’t want to.
Physical Violence When someone uses their body or a weapon to hurt your body.
Verbal/Emotional Violence When someone uses words (written or said out loud) to hurt your feelings or scare you.
Bystander Someone who witnesses something they know is wrong, but doesn’t get involved.
Upstander The person who knows what’s happening is wrong and does something to make things right.
Victim A person harmed, injured, killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action
