QuestionAnswer
Antonym A word that is the opposite of another word.
DESCRIBE tell about the character's personality or how they look
CHARACTERS People and animals the book is about
AUTHOR'S PURPOSE the reason for writing the selection is this purpose to entertain, to inform, or to persuade? Skim the selection and attempt to determine the authors purpose before you read the selection
BIOGRAPHY The story of a persons life written by another person.
SEQUENCE Order of events in a story
FICTION Stories that are made up and not real.
NONFICTION Stories that are true and have facts.
Speaker The one telling the story
CONCLUSION the end of the selection- ENDING
CONFLICT The problem
FABLE A narrative intended to teach a lesson,or moral, to the reader.
GENRE Types of books
NARRATOR The speaker of the story.
PREDICTION Making an educated guess as to what will happen next.
SETTING When and where is the story taking place
SIMILE A comparison between two unlike things using like or as.
SYNONYM Two or more words which have highly similar meanings.
