TermDefinition
Yahwist Source written in Judah during United Monarchy. Uses name YHWH (God's personal name only known by Moses). Portrays God in human form.
Priestly Source written during the exile or after the return. uses name Elohim until his personal name was revealed. Transcendent view of God (throwned in Heaven). Formulaic and repetitive.
