Question | Answer |
Probability | Measures the likelihood of an event happening. |
Theoretical Probability | How likely something is "supposed" to happen. |
Experimental Probability | How likely something "does" happen. |
Survey | A question or set of questions used to gather data or pieces of information. |
Population | The group being surveyed. |
Sample | A smaller group from a population. The sample is supposed to represent the population. |
Random Sample | A sample in which each individual in the selected population has the same chance of being part of the sample. |
Biased Sample | A sample in which members of the population have a greater chance of being selected for the sample than other members. |
Actual Error | The difference between the actual measure/amount and the estimated. |
Relative Error | The quotient of the actual error and the actual measure/amount, often expressed as a percent. |
