Contiguous | Files (or text) located next to each other in a folder (or document). |
Purge | To clear out, delete, or erase completely. |
Operating System | Software that allocates system resources, manages storage space and helps the computer perform essential tasks such as displaying information on the screen and saving data. |
WYSIWYG | Used to describe a system in which content (text and graphics) displayed onscreen looks the same as it does when it is printed or displayed as a finished product. |

Conditional Format | Formatting that is applied only when a cell’s value meets a specified condition. |
Embed | To insert the copy of an object in the destination file, along with a link to the source program, allowing the user to edit the object using the source program’s commands. |
Argument | The numbers, text or cell references used by the function to return a value. |
Filter | A set of restrictions placed on the data to isolate a subset of the data. |
Cell Range | A group of cells which can be either adjacent or nonadjacent. |
Value | Numbers which can be used for calculations, right aligned within the cell. |
Label | Text or numbers which cannot be used for calculations, left aligned within the cell. |
Sparkline | A graphical representation of the data embedded within a cell. |
Slide Master | The key benefit of using this feature of a presentation program allows for universal style changes to all parts of the presentation. |
SmartArt | A visual representation of the information. |
Animation | This feature makes objects move on a slide and should be used sparingly. |
Transition | Movement between slides in a presentation. |
Poster Frame | Provides viewers with a preview image of a video. |
Notes Pane | Use this to add reminders, talking points, or other pieces of information not shown on the individual slides to aid the presenter. |
File Extension | A group of letters occurring after a period in a file name, indicating the purpose or contents of the file. |
Browser Software | A software application for retrieving, presenting, and traversing information resources on the Internet. |
