Solomon After David died his son Solomon took over as king.
Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar of the Chaldeans captured Jerusalem.
Jerusalem Israel's capital is Jerusalem
Judah Judah's capital was jerusalem
Prophet A prophet is a person who the ancient Israelites thought was instructed by God.
Empire An empire is a nation that rules several other nations.
Tribute A tribute is money or slaves given to a stronger ruler.
Proverb Solomon was known for their wise sayings, or proverbs.
Instruct the ancient Israelites thought the prophet was instructed by God.
Symbol The stone temple in Jerusalem became the symbol and center of the Jewish religion.
Canaan Canaan was a region along the Mediterranean sea in southwest Asia.
Mount Sinai Mount Sinai is the place Moses went on top of and received the laws from God.
Monotheism The belief in one God is called monotheism.
Tribe Jacob raised 12 sons in Canaan. His family was divided into tribes or separate family groups.
Torah The ten commandments is called the Torah
Covenant The Torah described a covenant, or agreement, with God in which God promised to return the Israelites to Canaan if they followed his laws.
