Energy   -The ability to do work.

Product   -The result of broken bonds and rearranged elements in a reaction.

Metabolism   -The chemical reaction that occurs in an organism.

Activation Energy   -The amount of energy needed to start a reaction.

Catalyst   -Certain chemicals that reduce the reaction energy.

Enzymes   -A protein or RNA molecule that speeds up metabolic reactions without being permanently changed or destroyed.

Redox Reaction   -Reactions in which electrons are transferred between atoms.

Oxidation Reaction   -A recant loses one or more electrons, thus becoming positive in charge.

Reduction Reaction   -A recant gains one or more electrons, thus coming a negative charge.
