Symbols | These are drawings that stand for something.

Cardinal directions | North, south, east and west

Oceans | The largest bodies of water. There are four of these.

Globe | This is a round model of the earth. It is in the shape of a sphere.

Longitude and latitude lines | These create a grid around the Earth that helps us locate places on the globe.

Map | A drawing of the place as you would see it from above.

Scale | This allows maps to show distances. Ex. 1 inch= 1mile

Longitude lines | This circles the globe from the North pole to the South pole. The prime meridian is 0º longitude. It divides the Earth into Eastern and Western hemispheres.

Key or legend | This explains the symbols on a map.

Latitude lines | This circles the globe from side to side. The equator is 0º latitude. It divides the Earth into the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
