Context Clues   Hints in a sentence that can help you define words that you don't know.

Use the text to see if there are context clues about the unknown word.   What can you do when you see an unfamiliar word in a sentence?

Synonyms   Words or phrases that have the same meaning as the unknown word.

Antonyms   are words, or phrases, that have a different meaning than the unknown word.

What are the parts of a broken word   the parts of a broken word is roots, prefixes, and suffixes. These three things hold the key to the words meaning.

What do you look for to find the meaning of a word   you look for explanations and examples to find out what a word means.

Explanation   is when there is a meaning of the unknown word after the word is stated.

Example   is when there are specific words, also known as examples, help define the term.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
 
To hide a column, click on the column name.
 
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
 
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
 
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
