TermDefinition
Adaptation A physical or behavioral characteristic of an organism that increases its chances of survival in its environment
Behavior A plant or animal action, reaction, or activity that occurs in response to environmental changes
Endangered species A species whose population is so small that it is in danger of extinction
Environment The sum of conditions affecting an organism, including all living and nonliving things in an area, such as plants, animals, water, soil, weather, landforms, and air
Extinct species a species that no longer exists
Habitat The place where an organism lives and can find everything it needs to survive
Migration To pass from one region or climate to another usually on a regular schedule for feeding or breeding
Mimicry A resemblance of an organism to a more dangerous organism as protection from predators
Organism A living thing
