What can the atomic number tell you about the atom? The number of protons present in the nucleus
What does the mass number tell you about the atom The number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus
What is a compound A substance made of two or more different elements that are chemical joined together
What is a chemical change? A process in which one or more substances are changed into others, by their atoms being rearranged. Also known as irreversible reactions.
What is a physical change? A process in which the physical properties are changed, but no new substances are made. Also known as reversible reactions.
What is a reactant? A substance that reacts together with another substance to form products during a chemical reaction.
What is a product? A substance formed in a chemical reaction.
What are the 3 particles that make up an atom? Proton, neutrons and electron
What is conservation of mass? The total mass of the products in a chemical reaction will be the same as the total mass of the reactant.
