Lower Limb: HIp/Knee
Acuanatomy Point Location
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| ST-31 | On the anterior side of the thigh and on the line connecting the antero-superior iliac spine and the superio-lateral corner of the patella, on the level of the perineum when the thigh is fixed, in the depression lateral to the sartorius muscle. |
| SP-10 | When the knee is flexed, the points 2 cun above the medio-superior border of the patella, on the bulge of the medial portion of quadriceps femoris. |
| LV-9 | 4 cun above the medial epicondyle of the femur, between vastus medialis and sartorius. |
| LV-8 | When knee is flexed, the point is at the medial end of the transverse popliteal crease, posterior to the medial epicondyle of the tibia, in the depression of the anterior border of the insertions of semi-membranosus and semi-tendinosus. |
| GB-29 | In the depression of the midpoint between the anterio-superior iliac spin and the prominence of the great trochanter. |
| GB-31 | On the mid-line of the lateral aspect of the thigh, 7 cun above the transverse popliteal crease. When the patient is standing erect with the hands close to the sides, the point is where the tip of the middle finger touches. |
| ST-34 | When the knee is flexed, the point is 2 cun above the latero-superior border of the patella. |
| GB-30 | At the junction of the lateral 1/3 and medial 2/3 of the distance between the prominence of the great trochanter and the hiatus of the sacrum. When locating the point, put the patient in lateral recumbent position with the thigh flexed. |
| GB-35 | 7 cun above the tip of the external malleolus on the posterior boarder of the fibula. |
| UB-36 | On the posterior side of the thigh, at the midpoint of the inferior gluteal crease. |
| UB-37 | 6 cun below BL-36, on the line joining BL-36 and BL-40. |
| UB-39 | Lateral to BL-40, on the medial border of the tendon biceps femoris. |
| UB-40 | Midpoint of the transverse crease of the popliteal fossa, between the tendons of biceps femoris and semi-tendinosus. |
| KD-10 | When the knee is flexed, the point is on the medial side of the popliteal fossa, between the tendons of semi-tendinosus and semi-membranosus, at the level with BL-40. |
