Term | Definition |

Variable | A symbol that represents one or more numbers. |

Coefficient | A number multiplied by a variable. |

Evalute | The process of finding the value of an equation. |

Rule | It is an equation/inequality that represents the relationship between two numerical quantities. relationships in tables, graphs, or patterns. |

Constant Term | Number not multiplied by a variable. |

Like Terms | All terms that contain the same variable. |

Equivalent Expressions | Two expressions that are equal. |

Combining Like Terms | Simplify the expression down to like terms. |

Term | Part of and equation separated by + and - signs. |

Solution | When a number is put in for a variable in an equation , that makes the sentence true |

Coefficient | The number multiplied by a variable |

Constant | A number not multiplied by a variable |

Remove Zero Pairs | Zero pair from one side at a time only. Remove them |

Remove Balanced Sets | Removing the exact same valued tiles from each side |

Inequality | It is a number sentence with an inequality symbol |

Inequality Symbols | < > = |

Equation Mat | When the two sides on a mat are equal |

Checking A Solution | Substitute in a number you found as a solution and see if it makes the sentence true |

Factoring | Write the expression as a product 3x - 18 is 3 (x - 6) |

Algebraic Expression | Combination of numbers, variables, and operation symbols, no equal signs |

Unit Rate | Find out what one is (one pound is $2.99) |

Expression Comparison Mat | A mat where two expressions can be compared, to see which is greater |

Boundary Point | The solution to the equality |
