Powers & Scientific Notation
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Exponent | Tells how many times the base is multiplied by itself. |
Base | The common factor in a number written in exponential form. |
Perfect Square | A number made by squaring a whole number. |
Square Root | A number when multiplied by itself gives the original number. |
Radical | Another name to describe a number written with a square root. |
Negative | A number less than zero. |
Positive | A number greater than zero. |
Scientific Notation | A way to write very big or very small numbers. |
