What are the clinical effects of hyperventilation (HV) HV causes hypocapnia (decrease in co2 in the system) clinically characterized by cerebral system. symptoms include dizziness, loss of consciousness. tingling of hands, mouth and feet.
What electrographic changes are seen during hyperventilation (HV)? Normal responses consist of bilaterally synchronous slow waves called buildup abnormal spike and wave discharges of 3 hz.
What are the contraindications to hyperventilation acute stroke, recent intracranial hemorrhage, large vessel stenosis, recent TIA, severe cardiopulmonary disorders, sickle cell disease or trait or myomoya disease
