prostat/o means prostate the physiology of the prostate is secretion of the semen.
BPH or benign prostatic hypertrophy aka benign prostatic hyperplasia. a non-malignant excessive growth of the prostate
DRE or digital rectal exam a palpation of the rectum with two fingers. a DRE can detect BPH
TUMUT TX for BPH which is a microwave antenna through the urethra to the prostate for heat treatment.

PSA or prostatic specific antigen a blood test to detect a predisposition for prostatic malignancy .
vesicul/o means seminal vesicles the physiology of the seminal vesicles is secretion of semen.
vas/o means vessel or duct the male reproduction term for vas/o is refer to as vas deferens or seminal duct. the physiology of the seminal duct is to carry sperm from the epididymides to the urethra .
urethr/o means urethra the male urethra is the vessel that transports urine or semen to the outside world.
balan/o means glans penis is the enlarged distal portion or tip .
gonorrhea Balanorrhea is a SX of the STD is caused by a bacterium GC or gonococci.
hydrocele is accumulation of fluid in the scrotum.
circumcision is the process of surgically cutting around the prepuce.
ED or erectile dysfunction the inability to achieve or maintain an erection.
penile implant or penile prosthesis is an artificial part surgically implanted to correct ED.

primetruim is the outer layer of the uterus.
myometritis inflammtion of the myometruim. the myometrium is the muscle layer of the uterus.
endometritis is the inflammation of the endometrium . the endometrium is the inner layer of the uterus.
meterorrhagia means rapid flow of blood from the uterus.
men/o means menstruation or menses
menses or menstruation is the cyclic 28 day shading of the endometrium.
oligomenorrhea means scanty menstrual flow cessation of menses due estrogen deficiency the lame man term for this is menopause.
cervic/o is CX or cervix
vagin/o means vagina
vaginosis means abnormal condition of the vagina.
itits and colopitis means inflammation of the vagina.
A +P repair means that you suture the front and the back of the vagina.
vulv/o and episis/o means vulva
culd/o means cul-de-sac
