Abiotic Non-Living factors in an environment

Aerobic When oxygen is present
Anaerobic When oxygen is not present
Photosynthesis The process in which organism use sunlight to make food from carbon dioxide and water
Cellular respiration Metabolic processes and reactions that convert energy into ATP
Niche The role a population plays in an ecosystem
Habitat Where a population lives
Evaporation When liquid water is absorbed in the atmosphere and turned into water vapor
Transpiration Water evaporated from plants
Condensation Water vapor cools, and returns to Earth as liquid water
Precipitation Water returns to the Earth as rain, hail, snow, etc.
Run off Water that flows into a body of water
Prey An organism that is consumed by a predator
Competition Organisms compete for food, shelter, and mates
Food Chain Only one organism at each level
Food Web Organisms can eat more than one thing
