Label a word or phrase indicating that what follows belongs in a particular category or classification
Scale defined as a system or series of marks used for measuring or registering.
Plot is a graphical technique for representing a data set, usually as a graph showing the relationship between two or more variables
Interpret is defined as to translate or explain what something means.
Variable the one condition that is different between the control group and experimental group
Independent variable is defines as the variable that is changed or controlled in a scientific experiment
Dependent variable is what you measure in the experiment and what is affected during the experiment
Problem is something you don't understand but you can do an experiment to help you understand.
Research is performing a methodical study in order to prove a hypothesis or answer a specific question
Hypothesis an educated guess about the solution to a problem
Experiment organized process used to test a hypothesis
Data is defined as information collected using specific methods for a specific purpose of studying or analyzing
Conclusion a summarize that explains whether or not the data support the hypothesis
Control (group) is an experiment or observation designed to minimize the effects of variables other than the independent variable. Group that doesn't get the variable. It's used only for comparison.
Experimental (group) is the group in an experiment that receives the variable being tested.
Controlled variables A controlled variable is one which the researcher holds constant (controls) during an experiment It is not the same thing as a control group.
Placebo addition to a group of subjects that receives the treatment to be evaluated, a separate control group
Scientific method is a process for experimentation that is used to explore observations and answer questions.
Magnification is the increasing concentration of a substance, such as a toxic chemical, in the tissues of tolerant organisms at successively higher levels in a food chain.
Resolution is defined as the shortest distance between two points on a specimen that can still be distinguished by the observer or camera system as separate entities.
