Calvin-Benson cycle A process in photosynthesis that produces sugar
G3P a sugar molecule
reaction center a special molecule of chlorophyll A in which electron transfer occurs
photosystem an assembly of proteins and pigments through which electrons are transferred to reaction centers
RuBP a five-carbon carbohydrate that combines with CO2 in the first step of the Calvin-Benson cylce
PGA a three-carbon molecule formed in the first step of the Calvin-Benson cycle
C4 plant a plant that photosynthesizes in hot, dry weather
CAM plant a plant that takes in CO2 only during the night
