Carnivore Organisms that only eat other consumers.
Consumer Organisms that eat other organisms for energy.
Decomposer Organisms that break down dead or decaying material.
Ecosystem A community of living and non-living things that work together in an environment.
Food chain A sequence of who eats whom in a biological community (ecosystem) to obtain nutrition.
Food web Shows the connection between species in an ecosystem. (What eats what)
Herbivore Organisms that eat only producers.
Host An organism (producer or consumer) from which a parasite obtains nutrition.
Omnivore An organism that eats producers and consumers.
Organism Any living thing.
Parasite A consumer that lives in or on another organism (Host) and benefits by taking nutrients (food) from the host.
Predator A consumer that hunts another consumer for food.
Prey A consumer that Is Hunted and Killed for food.
Primary Consumer An organism that feeds on plants; a herbivore.
Producer Organism that uses sunlight
Scavenger A specific subgroup of carnivores that eat dead consumers.
Secondary Consumer An organism that eats primary consumers for energy.
