place value the location of a digit in a number
factor a number that is multiplied by another number to find a product
product the answer to a multiplication problem
expanded form a way to write numbers that shows the value of each digit
standard form a common way to write numbers using digits
word form a number written in words
powers of 10 the numbers 10; 100; 1,000 and so on; can be written as a base of 10 and an exponent
0.1 one tenth; 1/10
0.01 one hundredth; 1/100
0.001 one thousandth; 1/1000
whole number numbers that don't have a decimal or fractional part
distributive property A way to write lets you multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products. Ex: 5 x (4+2) = (5 x 4) + (5 x 2)
