| maize | an early form of corn grown by Native Americans |
| Mayas | a great Native American civilization occupying southern mexico and Central America - known as great astronomers and mathematicians |
| migration | a movement of a large number of people into a new homeland |
| northeast woodland | Native Americans who lived between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mississippi River who farmed corn and hunted in the forests |
| Pueblo | a village of stone dwellings built by the Anasazi |
| terrace | a raised piece of land with the top leveled off to promote farming used by the Incas to be able to farm on steep mountain sides |
