plant parts

Root cap It protects the root as the root grows through soil.
Cambium The second layer of a tree. It creates new xylem and phloem.
Stoma The thing that lets in and lets out gases.
Transpiration The way a plant can lose water.
Embryo The fertilized plant egg.
Germination When the embryo began to grow out of the seed.
Flower The reproductive structure of an angiosperm.
Pollination The transfer of pollen from the male part to the female part.
Sepal The thing that protects the developing flower.
Petal The colorful part of the plant that attracts polluters.
Stamen This is the male part of a plant.
Pistil This is the female part of a plant.
Ovary The area in the plant that protects and holds the ovules.
