3. How did the fur trade in Oregon aid Americans who began settling there? It showd that a way of life was being lived in that part and made people want to go live out there knowing that it was possible and safer than they amagened.
4. How did Manifest Destiny help Americans justify their desire to extend the U.S. to the Pacfic Ocean? Americans were given a reason by Manifest Destiny to spread freedom all the way to Oregon and that this was their God-given mission.
5. The development of the fur trade caused... The effect of the development of the fur trade was that people moved out West because they saw that they could make a suitable living.
6. Do you think the painting on p. 359 provides a realistic portrayal of the journey west? I think it gives an ok way of looking at it but it could be a little more accurate.
