origin (red p31) The zero point on a number or the intersection of the axes on a coordinate plane.
positive side (red p31) On a horizontal number line, the side to the right of the origin.
negative side (red p31) On a horizontal number line, the side to the left of the origin.
positive integer (red p31) The numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on.
negative integer (red p31) The numbers -1, -2, -3, -4, and so on.
integers (red p31) The set consisting of the positive integers, the negative integers, and zero.
whole numbers (red p31) The set consisting of zero and all the positive integers.
positive numbers (red p31) A number paired with a point on the positive side of a number line.
negative numbers (red p31) A number paired with a point on the negative side of a number line.
graph of a number (red p31) The point on a number line that is paired with the number.
coordinate of a point (red p31) The number paired with that point on a number line.
real number (red p32) Any number that is either positive, negative, or zero
inequality symbols (red p32) Symbols used to show the order of two real numbers.
