Wirtz Combined Geometry Chapter 1 Lesson 4

TermDefinition
angle (p17) A figure formed by two rays that have the same endpoint.
sides (p17) The two rays of an angle.
vertex (p17) The common endpoint of two rays of an angle
acute angle (p17) An angle with measure between 0 and 90.
right angle (p17) An angle with measure 90.
obtuse angle (p17) An angle with measure between 90 and 180.
straight angle (p17) An angle with measure 180.
Congruent angles (p19) Angles that have equal measures.
adjacent angles (p19) Two angles in a plane that have a common vertex and a common side but no common interior points.
bisector of an angle (p19) The ray that divides the angle into two congruent adjacent angles.
Angle Addition Postulate 1 (p18) If point B lies in the interior of angle AOC, then the measure of angle AOB plus the measure of angle BOC is equal to the measure of angle AOC.
Angle Addition Postulate 2 (p18) If angle AOC is a straight angle and B is any point not on line AC, then the measure of angle AOB plus the measure of angle BOC equals 180.
