Intro Color Terms

What is another word for hue? The name of a color.
What is a color wheel? A color wheel shows how colors are related to eachother.
What is intensity? The brightness or dullness of a color.
What are primary colors? The three basic colors that are used to create all other colors.
What are the three primary colors? Red, blue, and yellow.
What are secondary colors? The three colors that are achieved from equal parts of two primary colors.
What are the three secondary colors? Violet, green, and orange.
What are intermediate or tertiary colors? When you mix one primary and one secondary.
What are the intermediate colors? Red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, yellow-green, yellow-orange, red-orange.
What is tint? A value lighter than that on the color wheel.
What color would you use to tint? White.
What is shade? A value darker than that on a color wheel.
What color would you use to shade? Black.
What are the three color schemes? Monochramatic, Complimentary, and Anologous.
What is Monochramatic? One hue(color) with different tints and shades.
What is Complimentary? Two colors that are directly across from eachother on the color wheel.
What is Anologous? Three or more colors next to eachother on the color wheel.
What are the thre warm colors? Red, orange, and yellow.
What are the three nuetral colors? White, brown, and tan.
What are the three cool colors? Blue, green, and violet.
What are the five basic skin tones? Black, red-brown, yellow-brown, yellow, and white.
What are the four main hair tones? Blonde, red, brunette, and black.
What are the seven eye colors? Black, blue-violet, blue, grey, green, hazel, and brown.
What body shape do dull and light colors make? It makes your body look larger.
What colors make you body look taller or shorter? One color makes you look taller, strongley contrasting colors make you look shorter.
