Cube | A box-shaped object that has six identical (same) square faces. |
Cylinder | A shape with one curved surface and two circular bases that are the same size. |
Edge | The outside of a shape |
Face | A side of a 3D shape |
Flat Pattern | A 3-dimensional shape spread out to show which shapes are put together to make the solid. |
Prism | A solid object that has two identical ends and all flat sides. |
Rectangular Prism | A solid (3-dimensional) object which has six faces that are rectangles. |
Sphere | A 3 dimensional circle. A ball. |
Surface Area | How big the size of a surface is. |
Unit Cube | A cube that is used to measure the volume of a box. |
Area | The size a surface takes up. |
Perimeter | The Distance around the outside of a shape. |
Formula | Numbers and symbols that show how to work something out. |
Factor | Numbers you multiply together to get another number |
Dimensions | A measurement of length in one direction. |
Vertex | The point (corner) at which two or more edges meet. |
Pyramid | A 3-D figure who's base is a polygon and the other faces are triangles that share a common vertex. |
