atypical eosinophilic ulceration | infiltrate of eosinophils and t-cells, indicative of a CD30+ T-cell lymphoproliferation aka {atypical T-cell proliferation with stromal eosinophilia} |

localized exogenous pigmentation | most commonly an {amalgam tatoo} |
charm needles (susuk) | intentional insertion of needles into face |
lead poisoning (plumbism) | can be due to water contamination, paint, gasoline; causes abdominal colic, encephalopathy and renal problems |
lead line (Burton's line) | bluish line along the marginal gingiva due to lead poisoning |
mercury poisoning | usually from medicinal preparation; causes upset stomach, excessive thirst and sore throat |
erethism | neurologic involvement of mercury poisoning; exhibits excitability, tremors and memory loss |
acrodynia (pink disease/Swift disease) | chronic mercury poisoning in children; causes skin rash, photophobia and weakness |
ptyalism | excessive salivation; seen with mercury poisoning |
systemic silver intoxication | usually due to industrial exposure to silver |
argyria | chronic silver exposure |
bismuth | intoxication causes CNS disturbances and a black tongue |
arsenic | intoxication causes gangrene, diabetes and hypertension; potent carcinogen |
gold | can be used to treat immunologic diseases and is an allergen |
smoker's melanosis | increase in oral pigmentation in smokers proportional with amount |
reactive osseous and chondromatous metaplasia | metaplastic bone formation under ill-fitting dentures |
antal pseudocyst | accumulation of fluid under maxillary sinus floor related to adjacent odontogenic infections |
sinus mucocele | caused by obstruction of sinus ostium; usually symptomatic and requires excision |
murgical ciliated cyst | arises from sinus epithelium separated from the normal lining |
cervicofacial emphysema | air that is forced into head and neck spaces secondary to surgeries; exhibits {crepitus} |
myospherulosis | foreign body reaction of petroleum gel with antibiotics packed into wounds after surgeries |
