conclusion | judgement formed from the results of an experiment. |
control variable | factor that stays the same. |
dependent/response variable | the factor that changes in response to another variable. |
experimental data | facts and observations gathered and recorded about a problem. |
fact | that's stated to be true. |
hypothesis | an educated guess or possible explanation. |
independent/manipulated variable | the factor that is changed by the experimenter. |
inferences | to conclude by reasoning from something known or assumed. |
law | the most accepted explanation of a concept supported by very consistent experimentation. |
materials | the supplies required to carry out an experiment. |
mean | the average set of numbers. |
median | arranging the numbers from least to greatest and finding the middle number. |

theory | well tested hypothesis supported by a great deal of evidence |
