Interspecies competition | In which individuals of different species compete for the same resource in an ecosystem |
Symbiosis | Interaction between 2 species |
Niche | a shallow recess, especially one in a wall to display a statue or other ornament. |
Variability | also refers to the extent to which these data points differ from each other. |
Genus | a principal taxonomic category that ranks above species and below family, |
Commensalism | an association between two organisms in which one benefits and the other derives neither benefit nor harm. |
Species | is often defined as the largest group of organisms |
Community | a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. |
Ecosystem | a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment. |
Parasitism | is a relationship between two things in which one of them (the parasite) benefits from or lives off of the other, like fleas on your dog. |
Population | all the inhabitants of a particular town, area, or country. |
Biological diversity | means the variability among living organisms from all sources including, inter alia, terrestrial, marine and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part |
Mutualism | the doctrine that mutual dependence is necessary to social well-being. |
Resource partitioning | So, when species divide a niche to avoid competition for resources, it is called resource partitioning. |
