How is your body organized? | the levels of organization in the human body consist of cells tissues organs and organ system. |
Muscle Tissues | can contract or shorten makes body move |
Nervous Tissues | directs and controls processes, caries electrical messages back and forth between the brain and other organs |
Connective Tissues | provides support for body and connects all its parts. examples are bone tissue and fat tissue |
Epithelial Tissue | covers the surfaces of body inside and out. example- skin |
Skin | protects delicate structure beneath. example- lining of digestive system/ example of Epithelial tissue |
Organ System | a group of major organs that work togheter |
Organ | made up of different kinds of tissue |
Skeletal System | bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons |
What does the Skeletal System do? | supports body protects internal organs, allows movement, stores mineral, produces blood cells |
Circulatory System | heart, blood vessels |
What does the Circulatory System do? | transports oxygen, nutrients, wastes. fights infection, and helps regulate body tempature |
Digestive System | breaks down food, absorbs nutrients, removes food waste |
Excretory System | skin, lungs, liver, kidneys, urinary blader, urethra |
What does the Excretory System do? | removes waste products from the body |
Nervous System | brain, spinal cord, nerves |
What does the Nervous System do? | controls body's responses to changes in the inside and outside environments |
Endocrine System | glands, such as the thyroid, pancreas, adrenals, ovaries, testes, and others |
What does the Endocrine System do? | controls growth, development, and energy processes: helps maintain homeostasis |
