Term | Definition |
Base | The number that is going to be raised to a power. |
Exponent | says how many times to use the number in a multiplication. |
Radical Form | written using the radical symbol where the numerator becomes the exponent of the base and the denominator becomes the index of the radical symbol |
Rational Form | written as a base raised to a power in fraction form |
Midpoint | the half-way point of a line segment |
Endpoints | points that mark the beginning and end of a line segment |
Diameter | starts at one side of the circle, goes through the center and ends on the other side |
Radius | the distance from the center to the edge of the circle |
Center of a Circle | the given point from which all points on a circle are the same distance |
Perimeter | the distance around a two-dimensional shape |
Vertex | A point where two or more straight lines meet |
Pythagorean Theorem | In a right angled triangle: the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides |
