Term | Definition |
Function | Something that can be done to a number to produce an output |
Reflection | An image or shape as it would be seen in a mirror |
Symmetry | when one shape becomes exactly like another if you flip, slide or turn it. |
Transformation | Changing a shape by turning, sliding, flipping or re-sizing |
Translate | Change a shape by changing its position |
Rotate | Turning a shape |
Enlargement | Changing the size of a shape |
Scale Factor | The number of times larger you are going to make a shape. |
Prime Number | A number that has exactly 2 factors; itself and 1 |
Factor | A number that goes into another number. |
Multiple | A number that is in the times table of another number. |
Cube Number | The result of multiplying a number by itself 3 times |
Prism | A solid shape that has a constant cross section |
Cross-Section | The view of a shape that you would get if you cut a slice through it |
Cylinder | A circular prism |
Sphere | A solid shape; the shape of a ball |
Volume | The amount of space that a shape takes up |
