Right Angle | An angle that measures 90º. |
Acute Angle | Any angle that measures less that 90º. |
Obtuse Angle | Any angle that measures more than 90º. |
Complementary Angles | Any 2 angles that measure 90º when added up together. |
Supplementary Angles | Any 2 angles that measure 180º when added up together. |
Vertical Angles | Any set of lines that have equal sides |
Linear Pair of Angles | A set of angles that form 90º angles and are adjacent to each other. |
Parallel Lines | 2 lines that do not intersect each other. |
Perpendicular Lines | 2 lines that intersect and form a 90º angle. |
Triangle | 3 sides. |
Quadrilateral | 4 sides. |
Pentagon | 5 sides. |
Hexagon | 6 sides. |
Septagon (Heptagon) | 7 sides. |
Octagon | 8 sides. |
Nonagon | 9 sides. |

Concave Polygon | Lines fall outside of the shape. |
Convex Polygon | Lines fall inside the shape. |
Polygon | A closed shape with flat and connecting sides with more that 3 sides. |
Diagonal | A line that goes from 1 vertex to another non-consecutive vertex. |
Equilateral Polygon | A polygon in which all the sides are congruent. |
Equiangular Polygon | A polygon in which every angle is congruent. |
Regular Polygon | A polygon in which every angle and side is congruent. |
Trapezoid | A quadrilateral that has 2 parallel sides (or exactly 1 set of parallel sides). |
Kite | A quadrilateral in which the adjacent sides are congruent. |
Parallelogram | A quadrilateral that has 2 sets of parallel sides. |
Rhombus | A quadrilateral in which both sets of sides are parallel and congruent. |
Rectangle | A quadrilateral in which every angle is 90º and there are 2 sets of parallel lines that are congruent. |
Square | A quadrilateral in which all of the sides are congruent |
