Vacab Term | Definition |
Season | A period in the year marked by an equinox or a solstice. |
Direct Light | Light that hits a surface at ninety degrees. |
Indirect Light | Light that hits a surface not at ninety degrees. |
Earth's Tilt | The reason for seasons. (About 23.5 degrees). |
Orbit | The curved path of a satellite around an object. |
Revolution | The orbiting of one body around another. |
Axis | The line about a rotating body turns. |
Rotation | The act of turning on an axis. |
Solstice | The time of the year when the equator is it's greatest distance from the sun. |
Equinox | When the hours of day and night are aproximently the same. |
Moon Phases (Space View) | How the moon looks from Earth at any given time. |
Moon Phases (Earth View) | How the moon looks from space at any given time. |
Gibbous | The moon when more than half full. |
Crescent | A moon phase resembling a segment of a ring tapering tompoints at the ends. |
Waxing | The moon when the illuminated area is increasing. |
Waning | The moon when the illuminated area is decreasing. |
