NADH   An electron carrier molecule used in cellular respiration.  
fermentation   Occurs in the cytoplasm after glycolysis when no oxygen is present.  
NAD+   nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is an organic molecule that accepts elecctrons during redox reactions.  
anaerobic   Without oxygen  
aerobic   a process that occurs with oxygen.  
alcoholic fermentation   occurs in the cytoplasm after glycolysis and is used in the brewing of beer or bread making.  
lactic acid fermentation   occurs in the cytoplasm after glycolysis and occurs within muscles in oxygen debt.  
glycolysis   Breaking down of sugar-the first step in cellular respiration.  
pyruvic acid   The product of glycolysis.  
cellular respiration   The process of making ATP while breaking down complex molecules like sugar and other organic compounds.
