| What are volcanoes? | Volcanoes are openings in the Earth's surface that erupts gases, ash, and lava.
🗑
| How do volcanoes form? | Volcanoes form from plate tectonics like:
🗑
| Convergent Boundaries | Where plates move together.
🗑
| Divergent Boundaries | Where plates move apart.
🗑
| Hotspots | Places where magma is close to the Earth's surface.
🗑
| Where are volcanoes found and why? | They are found in different areas according to the types of volcanoes.
🗑
| Cinder Cone Volcanoes | The smallest of the volcanoes, mildly explosive, but because of the size, there isn't much destruction during eruptions.
🗑
| Shield Cone Volcanoes | Wide, large volcanoes, lava isn't viscous - thin and runny and flows out easily. Hawaiian Islands were formed from these types of volcanoes. They're made of basalt, the lava cools as it runs down the sides.
🗑
| Composite or Strato Volcanoes | Tall, wide, very, very explosive and extremely dangerous. Viscous lava plugs up cracks in the cone, building pressure, and causing huge explosions. The explosions vaporize part of the mountain causing a pyroclastic flow, hot ash, rock, and lava.
🗑
| What magma factors affect the type of eruption? (You will have an example volcano and you will decide what type of magma it holds, due to clues.) | Viscousity? Pressure? Force level? Destruction level? Location? Boundary/hotspot? Ash & pyroclast?
🗑
| Can I describe the 3 types of volcanoes? | Cinder Cone, Shield Cone, and Composite/Strato.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
