lever   a simple machine consisting of a bar that pivots on a fixed point ( fulcrum ).

inclined plane   a simple machine that is a straight slated surface.

wedge   is a double sided inclined plane that moves

pulley   is a simple machine consisting of a grooved wheel that holds a rope or a cable

compound machine   made of two or more simple machines

mechanical efficiency   is a comparison of a machine's work output with the work input

mechanical advantage   tells you how many times the machine multiplies force
