| Value of assessment depends on: | Reliability- The degree to which a measurement is consisted. Validity-The degree to which a tech. measures what it is designed to measure. Standardization- Application of certain standards to ensure consistency across different measurements.

| Classification System: | A system of distinct categories, indicators, and nomenclature for different pattens of behavior, thought processes, and emotional disturbances.

| Axis I: | Clinical syndromes and other conditions that may be a focus of clinical attention.

| Axis II: | Personality disorders and mental retardation

| Axis III: | General medical conditions

| Axis IV: | Psychosocial and Environmental Problems (Death of a family member, social isolation, homelessness, extreme poverty, etc.)

| Clinicians primarily use four methods of assessment: | Observations, interviews, psychological tests and inventories, and neurological tests.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
