Protagonist   An individual in a story- the central character ariund whom the main conflict revolve  
antagonist   In a literary work, a person or force in society who opposes the protagonist  
Implied Theme   Can be expressed as a general statement about life and is revealed graduated through such other literary elementssuch as plot, character, setting... ect  
Stated theme   Can be expressed as a general statement about life is directly or explicity announced in the text, usually at the end of the story.  
Point of View   The relationship of a narrator/story teller to thestory- first person point of veiw.  
plot   sequence of events in a narrative work.  
dialect   varation of standard language spoken by a group of people often within a particular fegion.  
symbolism   object a person, place or experence that represents something else, usually something abstract.  
irony   contrast between apperance and reality.  
figrative language   language used descripitve effect often inply ideas indirectly. although it may appear in all kids writing
