QuestionAnswer
In what ethnic group did the liberal ideas which sparked the French Revolution find a home? They found a home amongst the Creoles.
What two groups of people inhabit Santo Domingo? The French and the Spanish.
What were the Grand Blancs? They were the rich, and wealthy Creole families.
What were the Petit Blancs? They were the island's middle class, and not as wealthy or powerful as the Grand Blancs.
What was the final class of people on Santo Domingo? The slaves, of which there were more than 450,000.
When did the slaves revolt? In the dark nights of 1791.
Who was the young slave who became the general of the revolt? His name was Toussaint.
What book was Toussaint a big fan of? Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars.
Why were the new freed slaves angry with the new rule? It still required them to work, which they thought they would no longer have to do.
How did the slave's do against the French soldiers? They fought them to a draw.
How did Toussaint die? He agreed to an honorable peace treaty, but was kidnapped from his home and brought to France and imprisoned in the mountains. It was there that he died.
Out of 100, how many Americans were sympathetic with the revolution? Ninety-Nine out of 100.
What was Marbury vs. Madison? It was when the Executive branch ignored an order given by the Judiciary branch.
What was the ruling of Marbury vs. Madison? That Madison was incorrect in ignoring the Executive branch.
What is falsely drawn from the M. vs. M ruling? Judiciary Supremacy is what is drawn from it.
Why did America go to war with Britain in 1812? America wanted to own Canada, there was a British Conspiracy to stir up trouble in America, and some British ships boarded American ships and stole men.
What happened in the war of 1812? America fought of the British in the water, and on land we eventually fought them off.
What was the worst thing that happened to America in the war of 1812? The white house was burnt down.
