| SR- slow reversal | Muscle Imbalance, limited ROM | Increase ROM, increase controlled movement |
| SRH- slow, reversal, hold | Lack of motor control | increase strength, stability, controlled movement |
| RC- relax, contract | Muscle weakness | Increase strength |
| TE- timing for emphasis | Weakness within the ROM | Increase strength with in the ROM |
| AR- antagonist reversals | Muscle weakness around a joint | |
| RI- Rhythmic intitation | Decreased ROM, hypertonia | |
| HRAM- hold, relax, active motion | Hypertonia, decreased movement in one direction | |
| HR- Hold, relax | Muscle tightness on one side of the joint | |
| CR- contract, relax | Decreased ROM on one side of the joint | |
| RS- rhythmic stabilization | Decreased ROM due to splinting of a joint | |
| RR- reverse, relax | Hypertonia with no active movement | |
| RP- Resisted progression | Lack of muscle strength and endurance |
