Land / Climate

What is a Bay? A bay is alarge body of water that extends into a shoreline. Gererally smaller than a gulf.
What is a channel? A hcannel when speaking Geo. is a wide strait or waterway between two landmasses that lie close to each other;deep part of a river or other waterway.
What is Climate? usual, predictable pattern of weather in an area over a long period of time.
What is current? Moving streams of water in the world's oceans, which affect the climate of land areas.
What is Drought? Long period of extreme dryness and water shortages.
What is elevation? Elevation is the height above sea level.
What is El Nino? El Nino is combination of temperature, wind, and water effects in the Pacific Ocean that causes heavy rains in some areas and Drought in others.
What is a Gulf? Gulf is a large body of water that extends into a shorline, gererally larger than and more deeply intended than a bay.
What is a Harbor? A sheltered place along a shoreline where ships can anchor safely.
What is a hurricane? Violent tropical storm with high winds and heavy rains.
