What are the three things each and every sacrament has? | 1. Form(the words Jesus gave to us to use) 2. Matter(stuff Jesus told us to use) 3. Minister(Person or people to preform the sacrament) |
Why does God bring "Grace" into our lives? | God does that because he wants to help us out and wants us to be in heaven with him for ever. |
What are the two types of faith? | 1. Sanctifying grace( God living in our soul and we need it to get into heaven.) 2. Actual grace( Our back up grace) |
Who did Jesus say this to? "Go out and Baptizee all nations in the Name of the Father, and the son, and the Holy Spirit?" | He said this to the Apostles |
What is the matter or the stuff used in Baptizm? | Water |
Who is the Ordinary minister and the extraordinary minister? | 1. Priest 2. Baptized person, only when a prist isn't available and it can't wait. |
What is the purpose of Baptizm? | To bring a person into God's family, it washes away original sin, and gives them sanctifying grace and many other graces. |
What is the symbol of baptism? | In the Old Testament, Noah's ark is a symbol of baptism that Jesus would establish. |
Who is a member of God's family? | At baptism we die to our old sinful ways and are born again as a new creation |
What is indelible mark? | An indelible makr is a mark on our sould that no one can see on earth, but everyone will have in heaven, and it marks us as one of God's people. it cannot be removed and that is why we only need Baptism once, It wouldn't do anything if we got it twice. |
What gets rid of Original sin? | Baptism does. but does not get rid of all the effects of Original sin. |
What is consupiscence? | temptation or inclination to sin, and all humans have it. |
What are the types of Baptism? | 1. by water, most common 2. by blood, kind that martyrs get. 3.. desire, kind is for people who believe in a creator of some kind, greater than themselves and live a good life trying to please the creator. |
Who created Confirmation? | Christ created the sacrament at Pentecost, when he gave the power of the Holy Spirit to the apostles and also all the church. |
What is the form? | "Be sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit" |
What is the Matter? | Chrism or holy oil |
Who is the Minster? | Ordinary= Bishop Extraordinary= Priest |
What is the purpose? | gives a person the grace to practice and defend their faith. |
What are initiation into the Catholic church? | Their are three, Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. Once a person has gotten all three they are full member and adults of the church. |
Confirmation finishes what sacrament? | Baptism |
What is the role of a sponsor and a confirmation saint? | sponsor is the same as a Godparent, and stand up with you during the Confirmation ceremony. Confirmation saint is an inspiration and a role model, and also the confirmed persson takes their name. |
