Culprit the person guilty of the crime

Clues evidence that help solve the crime
Evidence something that furnishes the proof
Motive the reason that someone commits a crime
Suspects one that may have committed the crime
Guilt the fact that someone committed a crime
Innocence freedom from guilt
Alibi an excuse offered by the accused person
Suspence a state of anxiety,excitement,fear
Antagonist the bad guy
Protagonist the main character--the good guy--usually the detective in a mystery
