enzymes the liquid in saliva that causes the chemical digestion of food to begin

liver breaks down fats
urinary system rids body of liquid wastes and controls blood volume
esophagus tube leading to stomach which has muscles that push food through
trachea tube leading to lungs
epiglottis flap that covers the larynx
bladder stores liquid waste (urine) until it leaves the body
nephrons cuplike structures used in kidney to filter blood
urethra tube that carries urine from bladder to the outside world
ureter tubes that lead from the kidneys to the bladder
pharynx passageway for food and air from the nose to the esophagus
chyme watery liquid food that moves from stomach to small intestines
villi finger-shaped structures in small intestines that absorb nutrients and passes to bloodstream
large intestines absorbs liquid from waste and moves the solid leftover waste to the rectum
small intestines 20 feet long - where nutrients are absorbed into the blood
pancreas breaks down sugar
rectum releases solid waste
bile greenish-yellow liquid in gall bladder to help break down fat
